Short version: Booktoise doesn't collect any personal information. Everything you enter, from your reading sessions to your turtle's progress and your settings, stays on your own device. The only exception is your subscription status, which is handled by Apple and our subscription provider, RevenueCat, using an anonymous identifier — never your name or email.
Booktoise has no user accounts and no sign-up. We don't ask for your name, email, location, or any other personal information, and none is ever sent anywhere.
All app data, including reading sessions, book titles you enter, your companion's progress, and your preferences, is stored locally on your own device only. We have no access to it, and it never leaves your phone unless you choose to export a backup file yourself.
If you enable reading reminders, they're scheduled locally on your device using your operating system's standard notification tools. No notification data is sent to us or to any third party.
If you subscribe to Booktoise Premium, your purchase is processed by Apple and managed with the help of RevenueCat, a subscription management service. RevenueCat receives an anonymous identifier and your purchase history so it can verify and keep track of your subscription status — it never receives your name, email, or any other personal information.
Booktoise doesn't use any analytics, advertising, or tracking services, and doesn't share data with any third party beyond the subscription handling described above. There's simply no other data to share in the first place.
Since Booktoise collects no personal information from anyone, this applies equally to users of all ages, including children.
If this policy ever changes (for example, if we add a feature that involves a server or an account), we'll update this page and revise the date above.
